- Take as required Oil
- Take as required Butter
- Prepare 2-3 pc black peppercorns
- Get 2-3 cloves

- Make ready 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Make ready 1 tsp crushed black pepper
- Make ready 1 bunch fenugreek leaves
- Get 2-3 tsp fresh cream
- Take 1 bunch fresh coriander leaves
Murgh stands for 'chicken', methi is 'fenugreek ' and malai is 'cream'. The earthy, bitter taste of fenugreek greens complements the chicken exceptionally well. Methi Chicken aka Methi Murg is one my favorite Indian chicken curries. It is prepared my cooking tender chicken pieces with assorted spices and fresh fenugreek leaves.
Steps to make Methi murg malai:
- Take a pan add oil and butter add whole garam masalas(bay leaves, taj,laung, black peppercorns), red dry chillies then add onion..let the onion changes it colour add tomato saute well..add fresh chicken pieces and saute well..now add all the dry masalas(red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, crushed black pepper and garam masala powder) Mix well. Add curd and let it cook.
- Add little water if needed. Now add freshly fenugreek leaves(methi bhaji) mix it well, let it cook, add fresh cream and keep stirring, cook.on low flame. Lastly garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Ready to serve.
Since the curry uses fresh cream for its preparation, it is also called Methi Chicken Malai. It is mildly spicy and the flavor and aroma will win you over. The restaurant style Methi Malai Chicken Tikka, or Murgh Methi Malai as its commonly called, is a simple yet delicious Indian starter or appetiser. The fenugreek (dry kasoori methi), along with the other spices and yogurt combines to give it a very unique flavour. As a kid, I was a very picky eater.
