Heat the oil in a kadhai / wok and add the cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and cardamom. - Take kadai, add ghee/oil to it. Fry the potatoes for a min and keep it aside. Now in the same pan, add 1 tsp jeera & all the khada garam masalas, bay leaf, dried red chilli, curry leaves. Let them splutter a bit, now add hing. Mix everything well.
- Now add the chicken & potato pieces to it. At the same time, add onion slices, chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, salt, coriander-cumin powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, hot red chilli powder, garam masala powder, chicken masala and mix everything very well. Cover it and cook it in a low flame for about half an hour.
- Now wash the palak leaves and blanch them and grind it in a mixer to form a smooth paste.
- After half an hour open the lid and mix everything well again. At this point of time you can add half cup of lukewarm water and give it a mix.Again cover it and cook it for 15 more mins.
- After 45 mins now add the palak puree into it. Cover it & cook it for 10 more mins. And your Murg Hariyali is ready to serve. Serve hot with rice or naan.
